Health And Sanitation Program.

In rural areas not only health infrastructures are inadequate but health seeking behavior of the villagers is also very poor. Primary health care amenities in rural areas through public health centre, sub-health centres and referral hospitals are being provided to the rural people but still many remote areas of the state are not accessible by such facilities. There are about 50 PHCs and 250 SHCs in the locality. Number of Doctors, paramedical staff and other service providers are not adequate. Women in this state mostly anaemic, children are suffering from malnutrition, diseases like malaria, T.B, diarrhoea, jaundice etc. cause heavy tool every year in different rural areas. 60% pregnant women in rural areas still not immunized and get I&C folic acid tablets during pregnancy. Only 22% of deliveries are held in safe hands. Only 9% children are fully immunized in the state which is very far from the national average of 42%. SESA is providing regular as well as emergency health care facilities in about 25 villages of Daltonganj, Patan, Pandwa, Chainpur block in Palamu district as well as about 20 villages under Palamu Tiger Reserve of Latehar district.


- Primary health care support to rural people through Mobile Health Van donated by Japan Consulate. About 5000 people are benefited every year inform of free medical check-up, medicine distribution and pathological test support.

- 10 Covid – 19 vaccination camps were organized in VTC Bhusaria in association with district administration. About 2000 villagers were vaccinated in these camps.

- A Comprehensive Eye Health Program was conducted by the organization with support from Essilor Vision Foundation. 17 Free vision test and power glass distributions camps were organized under the program in 17 villages of Palamu Tiger Project areas. About 3000 villagers were benefited through the program. Power glasses were distributed to about 1700 people and 300 aged people were referred for Cataract operation.

- Vitamin C and Iron folic acid tablets are being distributed among 500 adolescent girls and women in village Bhusaria, Patharchatti, Polpol, Pokhraha and Kechki.

Free sanitary napkin distribution camps are also being organized in regular interval in village Bhusaria, Patharchatti and Pokhraha.
